How to Schedule Facebook Text Posts With Colored Backgrounds

A practical workflow for creating a native Facebook background post, previewing it and scheduling it without converting the text into an image.

Prepare a native background post

Start a Facebook Post in Upnext and write a short text-only message. Open the Aa background picker, choose a background and review the result before selecting your publishing time.

A native background post remains a text post on Facebook. It differs from a quote image, which is exported as a picture and uploaded as media.

Schedule the post step by step

  1. Open Create and select Post.
  2. Write the message without attaching media.
  3. Open the Aa picker and choose an available background.
  4. Check that the complete message remains readable in the preview.
  5. Select the Facebook Pages that should receive it.
  6. Choose Publish Now, Queue or a manual schedule.
  7. Review the publication in Content and the calendar after saving.
Illustrative text-only message

What is one small habit that makes your kitchen easier to keep tidy?

The message fits a household Page and invites a relevant answer. Choose a plain text post if the selected background makes the wording difficult to read.

Keep the message and format compatible

Background posts in this workflow are text-only. Adding media returns the composer to the standard post format. Check the available options in the current composer before building a larger batch.

If a background is unavailable for your message, shorten the wording or use plain text. Do not assume a limit from another tool applies to Upnext.

Choose the Pages and publishing time

Select Pages whose audiences suit the message. A shared background does not make a topic relevant to every Page in your network.

Use a manual schedule for a particular date and time. Use the queue when the post belongs in your established publishing rhythm. Check the selected timezone before confirming either path.

Verify the published result

Review Page-level status after delivery. If a Page copy failed, inspect its message before retrying so successful copies are not duplicated unnecessarily.

For the feature overview, see Facebook background post scheduling. For exported graphics instead, use the quote image generator.
