How to Plan Facebook Posts With a Visual Content Calendar

Use a Week or Month view to see scheduled and published Facebook content, identify gaps and create the next Post, Reel or Story from the date you are planning.

Start with the Page and period you need to inspect

Open Content and switch to Calendar. Choose Week for a closer view of upcoming work or Month for a broader picture of the publishing plan.

Filter by Facebook Page and content type when the full network is too busy to read. Review scheduled and published items before adding more content.

Plan the next publication from an available date

  1. Open the calendar and choose the period.
  2. Select the relevant Page or content filter.
  3. Review existing Posts, Reels and Stories.
  4. Find a date that fits your publishing plan.
  5. Use the + action to start a new publication.
  6. Complete the composer and confirm the exact time and selected Pages.
  7. Return to the calendar to check the saved publication.
Illustrative weekly review

A Page has a planned article on Monday and a Reel on Wednesday. Check whether Tuesday needs content, rather than filling it automatically. If an evergreen guide is appropriate, create it from that date and review its exact time in the composer.

Read the status before taking action

A scheduled item describes upcoming work. A published item records completed activity. A deleted scheduled publication can remain visible as Deleted so the plan retains its history.

Do not treat a deleted scheduled item as proof that a live Facebook post was removed. For published-content removal, use the separate cleanup workflow and inspect its result.

Keep calendar planning separate from queue rules

The calendar shows the plan; queue settings define recurring slots. Before moving content between workflows, check the time, timezone and Page destinations.

Use the publication’s available editing controls to change a plan. This guide does not assume drag-and-drop rescheduling is available.

Finish the review with the next decision

Check for unsuitable repetition, expired topics and dates with too much content. Then inspect the content supply before adding new publications.

Continue with the calendar feature, the queue guide, or planning enough content for multiple Pages.

Turn the workflow into one workspace

Plan, publish and schedule Facebook content across the Pages you manage.
